Mitsubishi group of companies is a group of autonomous Japanese multinational companies. It was formerly known as Mitsubishi Keiretsu. Founded in 1870, the Mitsubishi group descended from Mitsubishi zaibatsu- a unified company disbanded during World War II. Mitsubishi Motors was founded in April 1970 from the automotive division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Apart from being a part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance, Mitsubishi Motors is also a part of Mitsubishi Keiretsu.

The Mitsubishi Outlander is a compact crossover SUV, formerly known as Mitsubishi Airtrek. The Mitsubishi Airtrek was introduced in North America in 2003. It replaced the Mitsubishi Montero Sport with a modified front grille and headlights. In 2006, the second-generation model was launched. Mitsubishi Airtrek was introduced with a global name, Mitsubishi Outlander. The new model was powered by a newly designed 6B31 3.0 L V6 SOHC MIVEC engine. It was introduced at the New York Auto Show prior to its release in October. Mitsubishi came up with other models of Outlander series such as Outlander K2, Outlander Ralliart, and Outlander GT in the second-generation between 2006 and 2012. At the 2012 Geneva convention, the third-generation Outlander was showcased. Although the third-generation Outlander was showcased in November 2012 in the USA, it was not available in the market until early 2014. In August 2018, Mitsubishi announced the 2019 Outlander model with minor tweaking.

The 2019 Outlander features several safety measures in its third-generation model which is similar to the 2019 Nissan Rogue. The safety features include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Multi-View Rear Camera
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • LED Auto High Beam Headlights
  • Forward Collision Mitigation
  • Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction

The 2019 Outlander comes in two versions- front and all-wheel driving. It is equipped with 166 horsepower, 2.4L MIVEC engine. Outlander also comes in 3.0L MIVEC engine and has 6-speed automatic gearbox. The 2019 Outlander is designed with the smooth-accelerating continuously variable transmission (CVT) to use less oil for greater efficiency. Versatility is the key with the new 2019 Outlander, and hence it comes with third-row seating which can be configured for 50/50 split or be pushed down completely. It includes a new twin-blade grille with black inserts, revised bumper design, and 18-inch alloy wheels. US residents looking for 2019 Outlander in Easton or 2019 Nissan Rogue in Emmaus can easily find them as these models are launched in all parts of the US.
